The Deutsches Historisches Museum (DHM) is a museum and a foundation at the same time and it is about the Berlin history and represents a place about the enlightenment and understanding between the common history of Germans and Europeans.

The special exhibition 1945 - Defeat – liberation – New Beginning shows the situation after the second world war and also the postwar in Germany, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Great Britain, Danmark, Norway, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Belgium, France and the Soviet Union. The occasion was the 70th anniversary of the surrender of Germany.
